This compact cassette hose reel combines many fine qualities in a most convenient package. It's easy to carry around, exceptionally easy to store, and rugged and waterproof to boot. There are mounting holes on the side in case you want to hang it on the wall when you're not using it, and the double O-rings keep the unit from leaking. Toe tabs help stabilize the cassette when you're pulling out lengths of hose, and the hose winds up easily into its carrier case. And, best of all, this cassette comes with its own hose--65 feet of it. On the downside, this structure needs to be assembled, which isn't a speedy process. And 65 feet of hose may not be enough for your lawn and garden. If it is, however, this cassette reel is a good bet.

I previously had a long garden hose, but nothing to wrap it around, so it just sat on the floor of my garage. I was tired of dealing with that, so I began to look for alternatives. This reel caught my eye, since it is so compact and looked easy to use. Well, now that I have it and have used it, my impressions of the reel were correct! It is a great size to store away in the garage. Easy to pull out the hose (although you do have to hold on to the reel, obviously, since it's not heavy enough to stay there while you pull). Had perfect water pressure using a highly focused hose nozzle to remove grime from a refrigerator. And rolling the hose back up was very easy. Again, you have to always hold the reel down while pulling out the hose or winding it back up, but compared to other options, this is way easy. Not sure as to how long this will last, but it's working great now and doesn't seem to be made cheaply! I highly recommend this hose reel.

After 25 years my old Ames True Temper 65 foot Cassette Hose King Reel was finnaly showing wear and had spung a couple of leaks. I was very happy when I found the exact duplicate of what I purchased 25 years ago. This is the best hose for the money and it so easy to use. After receiving my new Ames Reel Hose I was able to put a new hose on the old 25 year old Hose King Reel and it has been moved to the side of the house ready for another 25 years.

I've owned this for years (probably almost 10 years). I've had to replace a couple of parts over the years and it was so simple to do (looked up part in the manual which was included; called and ordered part which was delivered within days; installed new part (without male help - sorry guys). The only complaint I could have if I had to have one is that I wish the hose was 75' instead of 60'.

I live in a climate where there is quite a bit of precipitation, so I don't need an underground sprinkler system for watering my lawn. The only need that I have for a hose is to hose things off outside the house. This hose reel is great b/c I can just grab the hose out of storage, walk right up to the faucet and get started. Best of all, I don't have to make holes in my walls to mount, or leave it outside like those unsightly box systems. And, oh yeah, it doesn't kink.

I live in a townhouse and have limited space in my front yard. I didnt want to get one of those big bulky hose reels to have on display on my front patio so I found this ames one and figured I would give it a try.
Pros: Very VERY lightweight, comes with quick connect attachments which makes moving it from front to back yard a breeze. Very small depth so it can hide behind bushes easily. We have an azalea bush and bought a 12x12 cement stone from lowes to put behind it and the hose reel sits on that stone out of sight. Easy to unwind and wind back up.
Cons: The only con is the inner diameter of the hose is on the smaller side so I dont get as much flow out of it as I do with the big hose I have in the backyard. I mainly use this for watering the grass, landscaping, and washing my car so the reduced water flow really isnt a big deal because its not needed...... actually, I think because of it I actually SAVE money on washing my car because I use less water with this reel.
I would buy this again in a heartbeat. There isnt a single other small reel on the market to compete with this.
