After having to buy one or two plastic hose reels every year , I bought two Rapid Reel 2 wheel garden hose reels.
They arrived rapidly :-) in double packaging. Inside the contents are well organized in a plastic tray. It has to be assembled, but all assembly wrenches are included.
Instructions are very clear, and it took 30 minutes to assemble the two reels.
The parts are very well drilled, and all holes align.
When finished, I was very pleased with the product. It looks like it will last a life time. The metal is all powder-coated and heavy.
Note this is the newer model for 2009. It carries a TEN year warranty against rust and leakage. Expensive, but worth it if you hate cracking plastic reels that spray water all over you.

As a gardener since I was a wee lad in Rural Virginia, I can tell you good tools matter. I have spent hundreds replacing hose reels over the last 20 years, and I can tell you this is the best quality hose reel I have ever owned. I purchased 2 Suncoat "Junk Reels" less than 2 years ago, and one has already been trashed, and the other one is on life support. And I paid decent money for them. This puppy works like a charm. Worth every penny.

Far too often we buy something and either immediately or gradually come to hate it, either because of a flawed design, cheap construction or both. That won't the case with this reel. I just bought the 2009 model but still have a forerunner (about 12 years old) that despite heavy usage looks and works like it's new. From what I can see they've only improved the design and materials, which, given that the older reel was (and remains) great, is an impressive feat. Admittedly it's a bit on expensive side, but not being annoyed by cheap reels makes it well worth it. Obviously lots of care and thought went into the design. Unlike many products, it'll put a smile on your face.

Amazing construction quality. You do get what you pay for with this one. Built like a tank. Would be even better with an automatic hose guide, but still the best I have seen.

Tired of marginally constructed plastic hose reels? I was too, and the old saying "you get what you pay for" holds true with this Rapid Reel product. I can't imagine a better engineered, more solidly built yet easy to put together totally with supplied items, smooth operating hose reel out there. I will gladly consider Rapid Reel to replace either of my other two remaining plastic hose reels when they eventually fail.
