Good Gorilla November 8, 2008 Katjamr (Raleigh) 14 out of 16 found this review helpful
We bought our gorilla cart a month or so ago and just love it. It pulls so easily, has carted about everything and only took my husband about an hour to put together! My Dad fell in love with it too, so we will buy him one soon.
Great Little Cart! September 25, 2009 Arthur J. Filler, Jr. (Poughkeepsie, NY) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This cart does everything I wanted it for - plus a lot more. Small but not too small, lightweight but strong and easy to maneuver. Can't say enough good things about it.
This dump cart is great. It can go places that wheelbarrows cannot go! February 2, 2010 Beth Donovan (Kansas) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I recently started raising French Angora Rabbits. I have the rabbit cages set up in the old milking room in our barn. I discovered that cleaning those cages was pretty difficult because my wheelbarrow does not go through the doors from the milking room to the larger barn area, so I had to either push the wheelbarrow through the goat pasture and through the door to the outside, or carry the 30x30 litter pans to the narrower inside doors and try to tip them just right so I could empty them into the wheelbarrow parked outside the door. It was a pain either way.
So, I looked for some kind of a wheelbarrow that would go through the inside doors, and I found that this dump cart was narrow enough that I can pull it right through the doors into the rabbitry. It is exactly the right length and width to dump the rabbit droppings in, and it is very easy to move it over rough ground to my compost pile. The dumping mechanism works fine, too.
I look forward to using it while building my raised beds in the garden this spring, too. The only drawback is the sides are not quite high enough to carry as much as I might like, so I plan to build some wooden sides to extend the height another 6 inches of so on all but the rear of the cart.
I also use this cart to haul 50 pound sacks of chicken feed, goat feed and rabbit feed from the truck to the feed room in the barn. I was delightfully surprised as to how easy is is to pull around, even up a hill.
I am very happy that I purchased this dump cart.
Made back-breaking work a lot easier June 22, 2010 Jason M. Stone (Falls Church, VA USA) I purchased this dump cart for the purpose of moving three cubic yards of mulch and six tons of 1.5" river rock from my front driveway to the backyard. I'd intended to just pick up a wheelbarrow, but I spotted this guy for roughly the same price (at a big box home improvement store, where they had it pre-assembled) and thought I'd give it a try.
Nothing was going to make shoveling 6 tons of rock any easier, but being able to load the cart up and pull it into the backyard was SO much easier than trying to balance a wheelbarrow. The tires on this cart are big, so it was easy to get it across the rocky and uneven surfaces in the backyard. My yard is pretty steeply sloped, and the cart has a fairly high center of gravity, so I did have a couple of inadvertent spills, but I just needed to take more care in choosing my route.
The handle in front pulls out easily and the whole cart tips backwards to dump the load. It was uber convenient. I don't really think I'd trust it with 600 pounds. I mean, maybe it could hold it without breaking, but I would not want to try pulling 600 pounds worth of material in it. I would estimate I put 200-300 pounds into each load, and I never had the sense it was in danger of breaking.
The material on the pull handle is a very soft, spongy material. When I was finished, the shape of it had distorted somewhat, so I'm not sure how durable that will be long term, but it was very comfortable to grip.
I'd definitely recommend the cart for landscaping tasks. Mine came pre-assembled, so I don't know how difficult assembly would be otherwise.
Father, Landscape Co Owner July 6, 2009 QsWorld (Livermore, CA USA) 16 out of 17 found this review helpful
I found this product as described. I bought it originally to carry my daughter around in Disneyland when she got tired. It was also used to carry our gear on the beach at Huntington Beach in Los Angeles. Worked great.
I have been using it for carrying loads for my landscape business. It is much easier to use than a wheel barrow. The front axle is really well designed and hasn't flipped yet in tight turns. The dump feature works well.
The reason I gave the rating a 4/5 is that the plastic bin is not as big as I would have liked. I put 300lbs of brick and it handled it well enough. I too (as stated by a previous owner) would not put 600 lbs in it.
